Ukrainian forces target oil depot in Russia's Voronezh region
On the night of October 4, Ukrainian forces attacked a fuel and lubricants base in Russia's Voronezh region with drones. Russian Defense Ministry announced the alleged downing of 18 UAVs
Ukraine's General Staff reported the information.
"Last night, the Annanefteprodukt fuel and lubricants storage facility near the village of Anna, Voronezh region, Russia, was attacked," the report says.
In the vicinity of the facility, Ukrainian defenders observed the activity of Russian air defense systems. Despite this, the General Staff confirmed that at least one of the vertical storage tanks was successfully struck, resulting in a fire.
"The task was carried out by the forces and means of Ukraine's Security Service in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces. The results of the strike are being clarified," the General Staff summarized.
Earlier, the head of Russia's Voronezh region, Alexander Gusev, reported that Russian electronic warfare allegedly suppressed Ukrainian UAVs in the Anninsky district, one of which crashed into an oil depot.
"An empty tank caught fire. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties. Fire crews are working at the scene," he wrote.
Russia's Ministry of Defense said that during the night its air defense system allegedly destroyed and intercepted 18 Ukrainian aircraft-type UAVs.
The Russian Defense Ministry's report states that 6 UAVs were allegedly destroyed over the territory of the Belgorod region, 6 UAVs were destroyed and intercepted over the territory of the Voronezh region, 5 UAVs were destroyed over the Sea of Azov, and one UAV was destroyed over the territory of the Rostov region.
