Ukrainian cyber specialists attack Russian servers, stopping traffic on Crimea bridge
Cyber specialists of the Ukrainian military intelligence have attacked a number of Russian servers, some of which ensured the operation of the Kerch bridge
This is reported by hromadske and Ukrinform, citing sources in the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU).
After the cyber specialists attacked the infrastructure of Crimean Internet providers, they took over the servers of propaganda media, telecommunications operators, and the system of registration and control of traffic on the Crimean bridge. In addition, massive phishing attacks are being conducted against local Internet users.
Currently, accounting services have been disrupted, and cash registers in Kerch and Sevastopol retail outlets are not working. The website of the propaganda radio station Kerch FM and the servers of the mobile phone operator Miranda Media also came under a massive DDoS attack.
"It is this operator that provides the main communication channels for the call center of the occupation administration of Sevastopol, as a result of which the number of the single contact center stopped working," the statement says.
At the same time, the system of registration and control of traffic on the Crimean bridge was affected, causing traffic jams.
Earlier, the Highway Information Center reported on the situation on the road approaches to the Crimean bridge that traffic was temporarily blocked.
DIU cyber specialists attacked Russian internet providers in Crimea
This was reported by sources in the DIU and the Defense Forces to Suspilne and Liga.net on June 26.
According to the source of Suspilne. Krym, cyber specialists of military intelligence are behind the attack.
Several Russian Internet service providers in the temporarily occupied Crimea have been subjected to cyberattacks. At the same time, the "administration of internal policy, information and communication" stated that the profiles of DDos attacks are constantly changing, and Russian specialists of providers are taking measures to counteract the interference.
"It seems that it's time for Russian cyberneticians to remember about import substitution, turn on their Cheburnet instead of the World Wide Web, and install an indigenous Russian firewall, fencing themselves off from the entire free world. This is the only way they have a chance to protect themselves from our attacks," the source said.
The DIU emphasized that Russian online services, servers and network infrastructure have recently been subject to systematic cyberattacks.
