Ukrainian forces crush Russian convoy in Kursk region with FPV drones: video
Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemen used FPV drones to strike a Russian convoy in the Kursk region
Defense Express reported the information.
The video clearly demonstrates how a reconnaissance UAV first detects a group target, and then the kamikaze drones launch the attack. In this case, the hit followed the traditional strategy of initially targeting the vehicles at the head and tail of the column.
Although this method works best on narrow roads with no exits and not in the middle of a field, it was effective. In total, about a dozen trucks were destroyed.
The actual date of the attack, as well as the scene coordinates, are not disclosed; however, geolocation can be used to find the latter. The incident have taken place within 2.5 kilometers of Ukraine, between the Russian communities of Sverdlikovo and Lebedevka.
"The rationale behind the Russians' bold actions, which is hard to interpret otherwise, is simple: they believe they are safe from attack because Western countries had previously prohibited strikes on Russian soil. Consequently, they expect minimal risk of encountering hostile forces at home," Defense Express believes.
However, this restriction has now been lifted.
Meanwhile, the way the Russian army is assembling its vehicles is noteworthy. With Western weapons now allowed to be used on Russian territory, these large groupings of targets can be effectively engaged with a few HIMARS missiles, leading to much quicker and more efficient outcomes.
