Dmytro Lykhoviy, spokesman for the Tavria military group, said this during a telethon on February 26.
"Units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have withdrawn from the village of Lastochkino," he said.
According to him, such a maneuver was necessary to organize defense along the line of Orlivka, Tonenke, Berdychi and to prevent further advancement of the Russian troops further west.
On February 25, Lykhoviy said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had withdrawn to the western outskirts of Lastochkine near Avdiivka, Hromadske reported.
It is noted that the Ukrainian military withdrew from the village and took up prepared defensive positions.
