After General Kirillov's liquidation, Russians plan to kill influential Ukrainian - military expert
Russia has long been planning to implement something on the territory of Ukraine, similar to what Ukraine is doing in Russia
This was stated by military expert, former SBU officer (2004-2015) Ivan Stupak on the air of the Espreso TV channel.
"During the full-scale invasion, the Russians were unable to carry out anything serious on the territory of Ukraine, except for missile attacks. Their actions are limited to adjusting fire, setting fire to Ukrainian cars and explosions near the military draft centers. They aim to kill someone on Ukrainian territory or abroad in order to create a big resonance within society. This could be a Ukrainian commander of a volunteer unit, an official of the General Staff, a well-known security officer or a media figure. The Russians are counting on such measures," he said.
Russia announced the detention of a suspect in the murder of the commander of the radiation, chemical and biological protection troops of the Russian army, Igor Kirillov, and his assistant Ilya Polikarpov. The detained person turned out to be a citizen of Uzbekistan. According to a military expert, it is still unknown whether this person was actually involved in the crime.
"Russian security forces needed to quickly channel public discontent. They immediately reported that they had detained the culprit in order to calm society. I don't know whether this person was tortured or threatened, but Russian security forces will continue to search. Later, they will announce the names of the Ukrainian side, supposedly those who ordered it," Stupak added.
- On the morning of December 17, an explosion occurred on Ryazansky Prospekt in Moscow, as a result of which Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov and his assistant Ilya Polikarpov died. The SBU is behind this.
- The day before, the Security Service announced a suspicion in absentia against Igor Kirillov. On his orders, the Russian forces used chemical weapons against the Defense Forces of Ukraine more than 4.8 thousand times.
- Later, Russian law enforcement officers detained an Uzbek citizen suspected of blowing up Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov on December 17 in Moscow.
