Ukraine’s Zelenskyy arrives in Brussels for talks with European partners
On December 18, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Brussels, where he is set to meet with several European leaders and participate in a European Council meeting
He shared this on Telegram.
"Important negotiations with our European partners are ahead. Europe needs a strong position for lasting peace. Every key issue facing Europe – and ending Russia's war against Ukraine is certainly one of them – requires coordinated and effective action from European countries," Zelenskyy said.
The president is scheduled to meet with the leaders of France, Germany, Italy, Denmark, the Netherlands, Poland, the Czech Republic, as well as the NATO Secretary General, the President of the European Council, and the President of the European Commission. Representatives from the UK and other countries will also attend.
"I will take part in the European Council meeting. We are strengthening Ukraine and all of Europe. I am grateful to everyone who helps," Zelenskyy concluded.
- German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius suggested the country could potentially have a role in Ukraine as a peacekeeping force.
