Russia plans to deploy North Korean soldiers to Ukraine's territory
Ukrainian National Guard Reserve Major Oleksii Hetman has said that Russia is considering using military personnel from North Korea on the territory of Ukraine
He shared this opinion on Espreso TV.
“There are reports that negotiations have taken place to bring in additional troops from North Korea. Russia likely plans to deploy these soldiers to the territory of Ukraine,” Hetman said.
Hetman noted that the number of North Korean soldiers fighting for Russia is gradually increasing, and Russia intends to involve them further in its military operations.
However, Hetman raised questions about Russia’s plans. "According to Russian strategy, they aim to fully retake the Kursk region by January 20. But if that’s the case, why do they need extra forces? Why bring in North Korean troops? It’s possible they won’t be placed at the frontline, but rather in rear areas, assisting with construction or engineering work. This would allow Russian forces to be redeployed to more critical frontline positions," Hetman added.
