Ukrainian Armed Forces approved to use Varan buggies
Ukraine's Ministry of Defense has authorized the use of the Ukrainian-made Varan buggies by the Armed Forces. These vehicles will be used for personnel transport, medical evacuations, and ammunition delivery
According to the Ministry of Defense, the Varan buggies were designed and manufactured domestically. They are built on a sturdy power frame, optimized for harsh operating conditions.
Each buggy comes equipped with a powerful turbodiesel engine and a 5-speed automatic transmission. Most parts and components are sourced from well-known global car manufacturers.
The Ministry also noted that the buggy's designer is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in vehicle repair and operation. The buggies will be utilized for moving personnel, evacuating the wounded, transporting ammunition, and more.
"The two-seater buggy weighs just over a ton but can carry 500 kg of cargo or tow a trailer weighing up to 300 kg. The fuel tank allows for 200 km of off-road travel, and on sand, the Varan can reach speeds over 100 km/h," the Ministry stated.
In addition, Ukraine's Ministry of Defense has codified and approved the delivery of the Ukrainian-made Chaklun drone.
