121 firefights occur at front, Russian army remains most active in Pokrovsk sector - Ukraine's General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this as of 4:00 p.m. on July 1.

According to updated information, over the past day, Russia launched a total of three missile attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements, using four missiles, 59 air strikes (89 aircraft in total), and carried out almost 4,600 attacks, 94 of them from multiple launch rocket systems.

The Russian attacks were carried out in the vicinity of populated areas: Starytsia, Vovchansk, Lyptsi, Tokarivka Druha, Vesele, Neskuchne, Derhachi, Slobozhanske in the Kharkiv region and the city of Kharkiv; Serhiivka, Raihorodka in the Luhansk region; Lyman, Yampil, New York, Zalizne, Toretsk, Vozdvyzhenka, Myroliubivka, Zhelanne, Ivanivka, Staromayorske in the Donetsk region; Burhunka in the Kherson region; and Tamarino in the Mykolaiv region.

Frontline situation as of July 1

Most of the fighting since the beginning of the day has taken place in the Pokrovsk sector. At the same time, Russian forces continue to make active attempts to break Ukrainian defences in the Siversk, Toretsk, Lyman, and Kupyansk sectors.

In total, 121 combat engagements took place along the entire frontline.

In the Kharkiv sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled six Russian assaults in the vicinity of Hlyboke, Vovchansk, and Lyptsi. Two firefights are ongoing. The situation is under control.

At the same time, the Russian aggressor continues to terrorise Kharkiv region with air strikes from its territory. Thus, Russian terrorists conducted seven attacks with guided aerial bombs. They hit the areas of Vovchanski Khutory, Tykhyne, Okhrymivka, Neskuchne, Lyptsi, and Vesele.

In the Kupyansk sector, the Russian army attacked 11 times - in the areas of Synkivka, Stelmakhivka, Pishchane, Berestove, and Stepova Novoselivka. Russian aviation attacked Kupyansk Vuzlovyi and Lisna Stinka with anti-aircraft gunships.

In the Lyman sector, Russian invaders keep trying to advance towards Makiivka, Hrekivka, and Nevske. A total of 13 attacks took place. Eight hostile attacks took place near Makiivka village alone. The situation is under control of the Ukrainian Defence Forces.

The situation is also hot in the Siversk sector, where the number of combat engagements increased to 18. Ukrainian troops are repelling the aggressor's assault in the areas of Bilohorivka (Russians launched 11 attacks near this village alone), Ivan-Daryivka, Spirne, Vyimka, and Verkhniokamianske. The Russians attacked Siversk with three multiple rocket launchers.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian troops are again trying to advance from Bakhmut to Chasiv Yar (Novyi neighbourhood) and Klishchiivka. Ukrainian troops prevented five enemy assaults.

In the Toretsk sector, the invaders launched 13 attacks towards the town of Toretsk, Pivdenne, Pivdenne and New York. Four firefights are ongoing. The situation is under control.

For a long time now, the Pokrovsk sector has been recording the highest number of combat engagements: 37 since the beginning of the day (12 of them are ongoing). The enemy is most active in the vicinity of Novooleksandrivka - 13 Russian attacks have been registered near this village today. Other hotspots on the frontline this day are in the areas of Novoselivka Persha, Vozdvyzhenka, Yevhenivka, Netaylove, Voskhod, and Sokil. The enemy fired at Vovske with two multiple rocket launchers and at Oleksandropol with unguided aerial missiles.

In the Kurakhove sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled six Russian assault attempts near Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka, and Heorhiivka. The aggressor fired two multiple rocket launchers near Kostiantynivka village.

In the Vremivka sector, the Russian army is repulsed near the settlements of Vodiane, Urozhaine, and Makarivka. Since the beginning of the day, eight aggressor's assault attempts have been registered here. The Russians attacked Berestka, Veselyi Hai, Velyka Novosilka and Odradne with guided aerial bombs.

In the Orikhiv sector, the areas of Robotyne and Lobkove came under attack from UAVs. The invaders are trying to advance from Novopokrovka to Novodanilivka and are being repulsed.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, three combat engagements took place at footholds, with no success for the enemy. The Russian forces used two UAVs in Havrylivka and Burgunka. Olgivka was attacked with multiple rocket launchers.
In other areas, there were no significant changes.

The border villages of Chernihiv and Sumy regions continue to be shelled from the territory of the Russian Federation. Thus, today Yelino, Bleshnya, Halahanivka, Leonivka, Starykove, Novodmitrivka, Miropilske, Miropillya, and Pavlivka were affected.
