'Strike wings' capable of flying further than FPV drones are in Ukraine - Ukrainian commander Fedorenko
Yuriy Fedorenko, commander of the Achilles Strike Battalion of the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade named after Cossack Ataman Ivan Sirko, spoke about the latest effective developments
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
"In Ukraine, there are "strike wings" in the appropriate number. This is a very significant development. Because at the beginning of 2023 and in the middle of the year, there were almost no "strike wings". There were only a few companies that produced reusable strike drones and 'kamikaze' drones. But these were very small batches. Only certain units of the Defense Forces had them.
Today, there are a number of production facilities that manufacture these "strike wings". They are able to fly further than FPV copters and carry powerful enough ammunition to inflict serious damage to the enemy deep in its operational space," Fedorenko said.
The other is the modernization of FPV drone control systems and night bombers, says the 92nd Brigade commander.
"If we compare the night bomber of the 'Baba Yaga' type, as the enemy calls it, in early 2023 from the same company that produces it, and in early 2024, these are two completely different weapons in terms of improvement. That is why Ukraine is developing sustainably and economically in this direction," he added.
- Ukrainian Ground Forces Command has decided to set up a recruitment center: the primary task is to equip units, which are operating unmanned systems.
