Stephen King backs Ukraine's Kursk offensive, says Russians "deserve it"
The American author believes Ukraine's military action in the Kursk region is justified, given that Russia initiated the war

Stephen King, the renowned horror writer, has once again voiced his support for Ukraine. This time, he commented on Ukraine’s offensive in the Kursk region.
“The Russians are getting their sh*t handed to them, and they deserve it. After all, they started it,” King wrote.

Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the master of horror has repeatedly spoken out in support of Ukrainians, condemning Russian aggression.
On March 31, 2022, King addressed the Russian president, declaring that Ukraine would drain his treasury and bleed him out. He later noted that Putin had underestimated Ukraine.
In late May 2022, King urged the world to maintain economic pressure on Russia, reminding them that Russia was not "dealing with a lapdog," but "a wolverine."
On June 28, 2022, he condemned the Russian missile strike on the Kremenchuk shopping center.
In early September 2022, King backed Ukraine’s military advances.
Then, in October, King, speaking for the world, told Russia to get out of Ukraine. He dismissed Russia's claim that the Crimean bridge explosion was terrorism, calling it a cherry on top after invading Ukraine.
On December 31, 2022, King shared that his top wish for the new year was peace in Ukraine.
In April 2023, King once again stood with Ukraine, warning against the temptation of an easy peace.
In April 2024, King criticized U.S. Republicans for delaying and postponing the vote on military aid to Ukraine.
