According to Trump, he plans to meet with the Kremlin leader as soon as the negotiations are organized. He added that the preparation process is already underway.
“We will try to do it as quickly as possible. You know, the war between Ukraine and Russia should never have started,” he said.
At the same time, in his speech following his inauguration, Trump promised to end wars but did not mention Ukraine at all.
- On the same day, the newly appointed U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, stated that he could not specify a timeline for ending Russia’s war against Ukraine. However, in his opinion, each side will have to make some concessions.
