Russia suffers heavy personnel losses due to limited training before being sent to front - UK intelligence
The Russian army's casualties in the war in Ukraine have recently reached 500,000. Russians probably receive limited training before being sent to the front
The UK Defense Ministry reports.
It is noted that in 2024, Russian losses remain high. Instead, in May, the average loss of Russian personnel was more than 1,200 people a day, the highest since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
The heavy losses, according to analysts, may indicate an ongoing Russian offensive on all fronts. In addition, it is likely that most Russian forces receive only limited training and are not capable of conducting complex offensive operations.
“As a result, Russia employs small-scale but costly wave attacks in an effort to weaken Ukrainian defences.Russia continues to recruit additional forces to sustain this approach. However, the need to continuously replenish front line personnel will almost certainly continue to limit Russia’s ability to generate higher capability units,” intelligence officials believe.
- Over the past day, the occupying Russian army has lost at least 1,390 soldiers, 18 tanks, and 39 artillery systems.
