Russia runs out of steam in Kherson region, combat intensity decreases - Ukraine's Southern Defense Forces
Dmytro Pletenchuk, head of the Southern Defense Forces’ Strategic Communications Center, says that the number of Russian assaults has decreased over the past two days
He said this on Espreso TV.
"Over the past two days, the number of enemy attacks has slightly decreased. This does not mean that the Russian army will not resume them in the same number again, but we can note that over the past two days it has run out of steam. There were 6 assault attempts in the Orikhiv sector and 6 in the Dniprovskyi sector, including one assault on Nestryha Island. The Russians are focusing on this island again," noted the head of the Strategic Communications Center.
According to him, Ukraine's tactical advantages and the presence of a foothold on the left bank of the Kherson region force Russian troops to continually attempt to land on the other bank to gain a foothold again.
"That's why they are trying to drive our marines out of Krynky, but again without success. Only yesterday, on June 2, Russia lost 10 guns in the Tavria sector, which is a significant figure. In terms of losses, the invaders again fulfilled the plan - 108, half of which are irreversible. By the way, this war is interesting for its ratio of wounded to dead. If during the Second World War there were three wounded for every one killed, here the trend is that half of the dead are wounded, and of the half of the wounded, some percentage will still survive in hospitals. Because modern munitions are much more effective. And we have an advantage in drones in this area, and the enemy is able to appreciate it," summarized Pletenchuk.
- On May 29, the editor-in-chief of the Kherson-based Kavun.City, Yevhenia Virlych, claimed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were present on Dnipro's left bank in the Kherson region. She referred to the words of the military.
