Rheinmetall receives order from Ukraine to build ammunition plant
The German military-industrial company Rheinmetall has received an order from the Ukrainian government to build an ammunition plant, which was announced in February 2024

Construction is scheduled to begin in the near future and be completed within a few years. Production of ammunition in Ukraine will begin within 24 months. Rheinmetall and its Ukrainian partner will be jointly responsible for the operation of the plant.
The exact value of the deal is not known, but it is said to be "in the range of three-digit million euros".
"The order underlines the confidence in Rheinmetall's expertise and manufacturing capacities. We are grateful to be able to support the country in its re-industrialization and in strengthening its defense capability," said Rheinmetall AG CEO Armin Papperger.
