Ukraine reveals details of experimental contract with Armed Forces for citizens under 25
Spokesperson for Ukraine's Ministry of Defense, discussed a new experimental project aimed at encouraging young men to join the Ukrainian Defense Forces
Dmytro Lazutkin, spokesperson for Ukraine's Ministry of Defense, shared the information with NV.
According to him, this is an experimental project aimed at motivating young men to join the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
"The brigades are very strong and experienced, and their commanders also have combat experience. Integrating into these brigades for positions outlined in the contract, in accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution, is worth trying for those who hesitated, those who want to defend their homeland, and for whom this motivation is truly important," Lazutkin noted.
However, he refused to provide specific figures or forecasts regarding how many young Ukrainians the Defense Forces plan to attract through this project.
"There are certain forecasts and plans, but we will not disclose numbers because this information could fall into the hands of the enemy from open sources and be used in their propaganda," the Ministry of Defense spokesperson explained.
Young Ukrainians can sign a contract for combat positions for at least 6 months. The Defense Forces need riflemen, senior riflemen, sniper riflemen, medical orderlies, grenade launcher assistants, grenade launchers, senior grenade launchers, scouts, and senior scouts. These are individuals directly engaged on the front line and carrying out combat tasks, Lazutkin clarified.
According to him, there are six brigades currently accepting volunteers who will sign a contract. Each brigade consists of 5,000 to 6,000 people, which will ease the rotation of those currently on the front lines.
"These are people who have undergone quality basic military training. The basic training lasts 45 days, and 14 days are for specialized training. For grenade launchers, snipers, and medics, it lasts longer. Moreover, there are another 14 days of adaptation in the brigade... We expect that young, healthy individuals who want to serve will become a significant help to the units they join," the spokesperson emphasized.
- U.S. partners raised the issue of mobilizing 18-year-old men in Ukraine. This is completely unacceptable, as the concept of adulthood in the U.S. begins at 21, while Ukraine's age of 18 is a Soviet relic.
