Ukraine is the world’s No. 1 in drone production — Zelenskyy

He said this during a conversation with journalists at the Munich Security Conference.

Volodymyr Zelensky mentioned that during a phone call with Donald Trump, much of the discussion focused on Ukraine’s technological achievements.

“We have achieved great success; everyone acknowledges that. Today, we have 200 companies in the drone production sector. We are No. 1 in the world, and it’s widely recognized. But I believe the problem is that No. 2 is Iran or Russia. That’s an issue. No. 1 should be Ukraine, the U.S., and Europe. Then there will be real security, even if future risks arise—people won’t be fighting,” Zelenskyy said.

Munich Security Conference 2025: War in Ukraine takes center stage

The 61st Munich Security Conference (MSC) began on February 14, 2025, in Germany, bringing together 60 heads of state and government for a three-day event. This is the world’s largest international conference on global security issues, with the main topic this year being Russia’s war against Ukraine.

The Ukrainian delegation at the Munich Conference is led by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Also part of the delegation are the head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, and Deputy Head of the Office of the President Pavlo Palisa.

The American delegation is headed by U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, as President Trump will not be attending in person. The U.S. delegation includes Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg.

On February 14, during the Munich Security Conference, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are expected to meet with Volodymyr Zelenskyy to discuss Trump’s push for negotiations on the war.

White House leader Donald Trump announced that U.S. and Russian officials will soon meet in Saudi Arabia for talks on the war. According to Trump, Ukraine will also participate in the meeting.
