Don't expect any 'deals' or elections in near future

One day has passed since the phone call between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian leader Putin, clarifying several key points

There are no negotiations. Only a prelude with an attempt to pull Ukraine and Putin into dialogue.

There is no plan: just spontaneous statements that partly reflect possible developments.

There are no prospects for a quick peace. No signs indicating that peace is near in the coming future.

The strategic goals of each are clear:

  • Putin seeks a redistribution of spheres of influence in Europe, specifically the implementation of the 'friendly Ukraine' plan.
  • Ukraine wants to survive and receive security guarantees.
  • Trump aims to reduce the U.S. time and resource investment in a war he doesn’t fully understand.

Clearly, these goals are incompatible with each other.

"Therefore, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance stated the possibility of imposing new sanctions and sending troops to Ukraine if Russia refuses peace talks."

European ministers, for their part, suggest putting all the foolish proposals in an envelope, sticking a 'Russian warship' stamp on it, and sending it to the address indicated on the stamp.

Unfortunately, we also see cases where Ukrainian politicians, driven by their own ambitions, jeopardize the internal unity of Ukrainians.

Therefore, in the near future, don’t expect any 'deals' or elections. Putin has no chance of defeating Ukraine through military means, but he may try to destabilize it from within by provoking internal divisions.

Anyone who undermines the internal unity of Ukrainians during the war is effectively acting against Ukraine—whether at the direction of the FSB or on their own initiative.

A politician who places personal interests above national ones demonstrates extreme irresponsibility.
