This was reported by Ukrainska Pravda, citing sources in Ukraine's Security Service and the Defence Intelligence.

In particular, during the UAV attack on the Akhtubinsk military airfield, Russian Telegram channels initially reported the operation of the Pantsyr SAM and a series of strong explosions. However, this information was later deleted.

According to the source, this deletion is indicative of a successful attack, as Russian authorities typically clean up the information space when significant military facilities are hit.

Earlier, Russians reported a massive drone attack on the night of July 9. Air defenses purportedly shot down 38 UAVs. In one district of the Rostov region, transformers at a power substation caught fire, and there is a fire at an oil depot near Volgograd, as per the Russian Ministry of Defence.

According to them, last night, air defence forces destroyed and intercepted 3 UAVs over the territory of the Belgorod region, 7 over the Kursk region, 2 over the Voronezh region, 21 over the Rostov region, and five more drones over the Astrakhan region.

The governor of Rostov region, Vasily Golubev, confirmed that the region allegedly came under a massive drone attack at around 02:00 a.m. Russian air defence and electronic warfare forces allegedly destroyed "several dozen targets in different parts of the region".

"As a result of the air attack, 2 transformers at a power substation caught fire in Rodionovo-Nesvetaysky district. A fire brigade arrived at the scene. In Rostov-on-Don, dry vegetation caught fire at the site of the UAV wreckage, and the fire was promptly extinguished," the statement said.

In addition, Russian Telegram channels report that a fire broke out at a local oil depot in Kalach-na-Donu, Volgograd region, after a drone attack.

There are also reports of an alleged hit on a bread factory. Locals say that at least 9 explosions were heard in the region.

The governor of the region, Andrey Bocharov, commented on the situation and said that last night, as a result of the fall of the UAV debris, fires broke out at the Frolovo substation and the Kalach-na-Donu oil depot. According to him, the fire at the substation has already been extinguished and power supply has not been interrupted.

According to the Russian Emergencies Ministry, there were no deaths or injuries as a result of the fire.

  • On July 7, a military airfield was on fire in the temporarily occupied Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region. The media reported three precise hits to the airfield.
