Heavy fighting persists on outskirts of Nevske, says Luhansk official
Artem Lysohor, head of the Luhansk Military District Administration, reported that Russian forces are attempting to break through Ukrainian defenses near Makiivka and Nevske
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"The situation remains tense. Intense fighting continues in the Luhansk region, particularly on the outskirts of Nevske. Our troops are holding off Russian forces, who are attempting to break through with all their strength. Just today, there have been around 80 attacks, primarily using FPV drones and mortars, as the enemy is positioned very close to the settlement. They are shelling both the village and our positions," Lysohor reported.
According to the head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Russian troops partially cut the logistics route used by the Ukrainian Defense Forces, but they continue to fulfill their tasks.
“We managed to provide people with everything they need. The situation in the area of Makiivka and Nevske has been very tense in recent days. The enemy is trying to break through and has deployed reserves, but our guys are holding on and defending Luhansk and Ukraine,” emphasized Lysohor.
- The Russian army continues to assault Ukrainian positions across 11 frontline areas, with a total of 106 combat engagements reported since the start of September 26.
