104 clashes occur at front on Dec. 30: Russia launches 30 attacks in Pokrovsk sector

Since the beginning of December 30, 104 combat engagements have taken place at the front. Russia attacked Ukrainian positions at least 30 times in the Pokrovsk sector

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this as of 4:00 p.m. on December 30.

"The situation along the line of combat clashes remains tense. Ukrainian defenders continue actively resisting the Russian aggressor, inflicting losses in personnel and equipment," the statement says.

In total, 104 clashes occurred since the beginning of the day.

Border settlements continue to suffer from artillery shelling from Russian territory. Areas near the settlements of Bachivsk and Oleksandrivka in the Sumy region and Tymofiivka in the Kharkiv region were hit by barrel artillery fire.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces twice unsuccessfully attacked the defensive lines of Ukrainian units near Vovchansk and Lyptsi.

In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled four Russian attacks near Holubivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Kruhliakivka, and Zahryzove, with seven clashes still ongoing.

In the Lyman direction, Russian army launched ten attacks during the day near Kopanky, Nadiia, Novoiehorivka, Makiivka, Ivanivka, and Terny, with battles currently underway at two locations.

Russian troops conducted one assault in the Siversk direction near Bilohorivka, which was repelled by the Defense Forces.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled three assault actions near Chasiv Yar and Stupochky, with four clashes ongoing.

In the Toretsk direction, Russians attempted to dislodge Ukrainian units from their positions near Shcherbynivka and Toretsk, where the Defense Forces repelled two attacks. Four clashes are still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the invading Russian forces launched 30 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders out of their positions near the settlements of Vozdvyzhenka, Myroliubivka, Promin, Zelene, Dachenske, Novyi Trud, Shevchenko, Vovkove, Novoolenivka, and Novoielyzavetivka. The Defense Forces are holding the line and have repelled 23 enemy attacks, with seven clashes still ongoing. Enemy losses are being clarified.

In the Kurakhove direction, Russian troops carried out 11 attacks near Petropavlivka, Slovyanka, Shevchenko, and Kurakhove, with two attacks ongoing.

In the Vremivka direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 11 Russian assaults near Yantarne, Uspenivka, Vremivka, and in the direction of Kostyantynopol and Novosilka, with four clashes still underway.

No significant changes on other directions.

  • On December 20, Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups attempted to advance toward Kherson.
  • Later, the director of the information and consulting company Defense Express, Serhii Zghurets, noted that there is no significant threat to Kherson at the moment. There are only instances of the enemy attempting to entrench themselves on islands and conduct assaults across the Dnipro River.
