Harris says she will not agree to talks with Putin on Ukraine without Kyiv's participation
U.S. presidential candidate and vice president Kamala Harris said she would not agree to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine with Russian leader Vladimir Putin without Kyiv's participation
Harris said this in an interview with CBS News.
When asked whether she would meet with Putin to negotiate a solution to the war in Ukraine, Harris said no.
“Not bilaterally without Ukraine, no. Ukraine must have a say in the future of Ukraine,” she said.
She added that “there will be no success in ending that war without Ukraine and the UN charter participating in what that success looks like.”
Harris dodges the question about Ukraine's accession to NATO
When asked whether Harris supports “NATO expansion to include Ukraine,” the vice president dodged the question.
“Those are all issues that we will deal with if and when it arrives at that point. Right now, we are supporting Ukraine's ability to defend itself against Russia's unprovoked aggression,” Harris emphasized.
