Frontline realities: life in Zaporizhzhia region buffer zone
More than 10,000 people who live along the frontline in Zaporizhzhia region have been without water, electricity, heat and gas for more than two years
Ivan Fedorov, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported the information.
According to him, these are 50 settlements. "Of course, this is only a tenth of what it used to be, but thousands of residents, tens of thousands, are still here and continue to wait for the full de-occupation of our Zaporizhzhia region, our state. I want to thank our donors who help not only with food, financial assistance, but also with providing wells with pumps, delivering medicines to residents, supporting them in every possible way while they mostly live in basements to protect themselves somehow," said the head of the Zaporizhzhia region.
He also noted that the residents of the frontline continue to receive all their payments - Ukrposhta, national postal service operator, continues to deliver them.
Fedorov also spoke about the evacuation from the frontline areas and the region.
“Since the beginning of the month, only 6 people have left, mostly people with limited mobility, those who are no longer able to cope with their illnesses in the areas close to the hostilities. And here, thanks to Ukrainian National Police and rescuers, we are evacuating our residents to safer places,” said Fedorov.
He added that free evacuation is also taking place from Zaporizhzhia itself.
