Following US decision to aid Ukraine, Europe feels like it's their war - former MP Hopko
Hanna Hopko, chairman of the National Interests Advocacy Network ANTS, believes that European countries are beginning to understand that Russia's war with Ukraine is theirs as well
She shared her opinions with Espreso TV.
"When we were visiting Rome and Paris, we joked about whether the European Union would have enough coffee to send Hungarians to drink when they try to block aid to Ukraine. However, it seems to me that many in the EU have realized that Orban's subversive actions affect Europe's strategic security. Therefore, European countries are looking for various workarounds," Hopko explained.
The former MP also believes that after the US vote to help Ukraine, Europe will also become more active in this issue.
"It seems to me that Europe, after the US decision to help Ukraine, realizes its responsibility. If we are talking about NATO's security, they should invest in new production facilities of their own military-industrial complex and help Ukraine. And if it is necessary to send a military contingent and strengthen air defense in Ukraine, then it should be done. We need to defeat Russia here. And finally, Europe has finally realized that this is their war as well," she added.
