105 firefights take place at front, most intense in Kupyansk sector - General Staff
Number of combat engagements in all sectors increased to 105 since the beginning of the day. Most of them took place in the Kupyansk sector

In the Kharkiv sector, all 10 combat engagements took place in the area of Lyptsi village. One is still ongoing. Russia's army concentrated all of today's airstrikes in the areas of Vovchansk and Vilcha village. It was dropping tactical aerial vehicles. The situation is under control.
In the Kupyansk sector, fighting is currently ongoing in the areas of Synkivka, Berestove, Druzheliubivka, and Hrekivka. The situation is under control. Russia is suffering losses. In particular, an infantry fighting vehicle and three armored personnel carriers were destroyed near Berestove.
In the Lyman sector, six Russian attacks were repelled near Torske and Nevske. The Russian troops dropped four guided bombs in the areas of Serebrianske forestry, Terny, Yampolivka, and Ivanivka.
In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian troops are currently repelling three attacks near the villages of Bilohorivka and Vyymka. Russia dropped three guided bombs near Siversk and Hryhorivka. Three airstrikes have already taken place in the sector today, involving the use of aerial bombs.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the total number of Russian attempts to improve the tactical situation increased to eight. The situation is under control. In addition, the invaders launched missiles near Novomykolaivka and dropped a guided aerial bomb near Shumy.
In the Pokrovsk sector, 11 firefights are ongoing, and 10 of the Russian forces’ attacks have already been repelled. The invading troops launched airstrikes in the areas of Kalynove, Novoselivka Persha, and Yasnobrodivka. The situation remains unchanged. The Russians conducted two airstrikes near Oleksandropil and Kalynove.
In the Kurakhove sector, there were 18 combat engagements today. Fighting is ongoing near Heorhiivka.
In the Vremivka sector, since the beginning of the day, Ukrainian troops have repelled two attacks in the areas of Urozhaine and Staromaiorsk. No losses of Ukrainian positions were reported.
In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Russia unsuccessfully tried to force Ukrainian soldiers from the left bank of the Dnipro River seven times. The enemy's losses are being clarified.
The situation in the rest of the sectors did not change significantly. Apart from the fact that the Russian army conducted two airstrikes near the villages of Makarivka in the Donetsk region and Novoandriivka in the Zaporizhzhia - the Vremivka and Orikhiv directions, respectively.
As of 10:30 a.m. on May 22, the General Staff's report said that a total of 117 combat engagements took place at the frontline over the past day. The Russian forces have somewhat reduced the intensity of attacks in the Pokrovske direction, but continued to advance in other directions. At the same time, the invading troops launched three airstrikes using five combat aircraft. The Russians also used 58 kamikaze drones for attacks.
Attacks across Ukraine and Russian losses
In total, the Russians launched 4 missile attacks using four missiles, 55 airstrikes during which they dropped 84 guided bombs, and used 927 'kamikaze' drones, including 59 Shahed and Lancet UAVs and 868 FPV drones. The invading Russian forces fired 4,094 times at the Ukrainian military positions and civilian settlements using various types of weapons, including 89 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems.
Over the past 24 hours, the Air Force, missile forces and artillery hit 16 Russian manpower concentration areas, a command center, an artillery vehicle, two ammunition depots, and two radars.
As a result, the Russian army's total losses amounted to 1,300 people over the past day. Russia also lost six tanks, 22 armored combat vehicles, 41 artillery systems, an air defense system, 56 UAVs, one missile, 59 vehicles, and 5 ieces of special equipment.
