Russia aims to create as many war hot spots as possible in eastern Ukraine
Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier Yevhen Iievliev says that the Russian troops have concentrated manpower not only near Horlivka or Avdiivka, but have stretched it along the entire eastern frontline
He said this on Espreso TV.
"Being in the Horlivka direction, I will talk about the strip we see in front of us. To our left is the Bakhmut direction, and to our right is Horlivka. The distance in both directions is about 10-12 kilometers from our positions. Currently, the enemy is not concentrating manpower on Horlivka or Avdiivka, but along the entire strip, increasing the number of personnel everywhere to distract the attention of the Ukrainian Armed Forces," he explained.
According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman, the invading troops are trying to create as many focal points of fighting as possible.
"That is, the enemy is trying to create pinpoint problems so that the Defense Forces cannot clench their fist and Ukrainian artillery can keep not only Avdiivka in maximum focus. Therefore, the artillery and other units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are forced to respond to everything that happens on the strip, which is a stretch of about 70-80 kilometers," he emphasized.
- The Institute for the Study of War writes that the Ukrainian military advanced east of the railroad tracks near the Avdiivka Coke Plant and forced the enemy to withdraw from two positions.
- Russian forces in the Avdiivka sector intensified the use of ‘kamikaze’ drones, aircraft and artillery. In return, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 39 pieces of Russian military equipment.
