Russia tells Georgian authorities to publicly execute Saakashvili
Mamuka Mamulashvili, Georgian National Legion founder and commander, believes Russia is continuing to target Saakashvili, who led an era of reform in Georgia
He reported this on Espreso.
"Let's start with the fact that Georgia went through an era of reforms led by Saakashvili. This was unacceptable for Russia, so the Kremlin tried to punish Georgia by military means in 2008. And when that did not work, the Russian authorities brought their party to Georgia, which dealt with Georgian reforms. And today we see the public execution of Saakashvili, which is broadcast almost every day on television. This process is managed by Russia, which today issued a directive to publicly execute him. The Georgian government is doing this, Saakashvili is in captivity," he said.
Mamuka Mamulashvili noted that the quality of democracy in Georgia is suffering right now – there is effectively a totalitarian government which is difficult to fight without any political changes.
