Russia strikes Sumy region border 114 times on January 1
Over January 1, Russian troops have struck 114 times on the border of the Sumy region. Five communities have come under enemy fire
Dmytro Zhyvytskyi, head of Sumy regional military administration, reported the information.
"The shelling damaged an architectural monument, the wooden church of St. Barbara. The monument, the house of culture and the community leader’s building were also damaged," he said.
Five communities reportedly came under fire. The enemy fired 15 MLRS and 15 barrel artillery attacks at the Esman community. The enemy fired at the Hlukhiv community from MLRS, a total of 20 attacks.
"The Russian army shelled the Shalyhyne community with 120 mm mortars, 11 attacks in total. And there were 10 more from cannon artillery. Krasnopillia community: 6 enemy mines exploded on the border. Bilopillia community: the enemy struck twice with 120 mm mortars. There were 27 strikes in total," added Zhyvytskyi.
- On December 31, Russian troops struck the Sumy region 110 times. Six communities in the Sumy region, a school and a local civilian enterprise came under Russian shelling by artillery, mortars and Grad MLRS.
