Russia needs negotiations not on Ukraine, but on its own destiny - former Lithuanian Foreign Minister
The former head of Lithuania's Ministry of Foreign Affairs believes that Russian president Putin should consider the fate of his own country, not negotiations with Ukraine
This was tweeted by former Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius.
“They need negotiations not on Ukraine, but on their own destiny,” the former minister tweeted.
He also stressed that it is time for Moscow to come back to reality, because today's Russia may not exist in the future.
“If Putin doesn't come back to reality and if Russia doesn't come back to reality, in the new reality there won't be a current Russia anymore,” he said.
On October 16, the foreign ministers of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania called on the EU to create an international special tribunal against the Russian leadership. They stressed that the EU should continue to support the investigations conducted by Ukraine, a number of other states, as well as the International Criminal Court (ICC).
October 18 Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis called for sanctions against Iran over its supply of drones to Russia.
On October 20, Landsbergis said that if Russia is already saying that it is at war with NATO, accepting Ukraine into the Alliance is the only thing left to do.
Also, Lithuanian politician, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania (2012-2020) Linas Linkevičius said on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel that in order to win, Ukraine needs to be supplied with tanks, planes and long-range artillery.
