Russia needs "elections" in occupied territories for further forced conscription - Ukraine’s official
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov believes that one of the main tasks of the Russian Federation, which is holding pseudo-elections in the occupied territories, is to recruit residents into its army
He wrote about this in X (Twitter).
"One of the main tasks that the Russian authorities are solving by holding the so-called single voting day is to bring the temporarily occupied territories into the legal field of the Russian Federation in order to build a mobilization infrastructure, force them to take citizenship and prepare "new citizens of the Russian Federation" for forced conscription," Danilov said.
The NSDC Secretary added how to disrupt Russia's plans.
"The activities of the resistance movement, the withdrawal from the occupied territories, the destruction of occupation administrative centers and collaborators, and most importantly, the liberation of Ukrainian lands by the Ukrainian Defense Forces are comprehensive measures to disrupt the plans for forced Russification in the history of Ukraine, starting with Peter I and Catherine II," he concluded.
