Russia loses 800 soldiers, 9 tanks, 19 armored vehicles and 10 cruise missiles in one day of war in Ukraine – General Staff 

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff shared their regular report, as below.

The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to December 12, 2023, amounted to:

• personnel – about 340,650 (+800) 
• tanks ‒ 5,664 (+9)
• armored fighting vehicles ‒ 10,579 (+19)
• artillery systems – 8,073 (+3)
• MLRS – 919 
• air defense systems ‒ 605
• aircraft – 324 
• helicopters – 324
• UAV operational-tactical level – 6,163 (+9)

Ukrainian Armed Forces repel 42 attacks in the Avdiivka direction over a day

According to the General Staff, 89 combat clashes took place at the front during the past 24 hours.
Near the state Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed.

In the area of Ukraine's northeastern border, the Russian army maintains a military presence, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 4 Russian attacks near Synkivka, and northwest of Petropavlivka, Kharkiv region. 

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian Armed Forces beat back 8 attacks near Spirne and Vesele, Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukraine's troops fended off 14 Russia's attacks near 4 settlements in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian Defense Forces continue assault operations south of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on Russian troops, and consolidating their positions.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukraine continues to hold back the Russian invading forces, who keep trying to surround Avdiivka. Ukraine's soldiers are steadily holding the line, inflicting significant losses on the Russian troops. Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully repelled 42 attacks in 6 areas in the Donetsk region.

In the Marinka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back Russian troops near Marinka, Krasnohorivka and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region, where Ukrainian defenders repelled 14 attacks.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops did not conduct assault operations.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 3 attacks near Pryiutne and west of Novopokrovka, Zaporizhzhia region.

At the same time, in the Melitopol direction, the Ukrainian army continues to inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the invading Russian forces, exhausting Russian troops.

In the Kherson direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River, continue to conduct counter-battery combat and inflict fire on Russia's rear.

Russian troops attack Ukraine with missiles and Shahed UAVs: Ukrainian Armed Forces hit 5 Russian personnel concentrations

In total, Russia launched 10 missile and 18 air strikes, and 60 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Private homes and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

In addition, yesterday Russia attacked Ukraine using 15 Shahed-136/131 UAVs. The Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 9 attack UAVs.

Two settlements in the Donetsk region were hit by Russian air strikes. Over 90 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kherson regions came under Russian artillery fire.

At the same time, over the past day, Ukrainian aviation conducted 2 strikes on concentrations of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment.

Ukrainian missile units also struck at 3 concentrations of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment, 2 ammunition depots, 1 control center and 1 artillery unit.

• On the night of December 12, Russian troops launched 15 attack UAVs at Ukraine, 9 of which were shot down by Ukrainian defenders. In the eastern direction, two Russian Kh-59 missiles were destroyed the night before.
