Russia loses 15 tanks, 40 artillery systems, and 360 soldiers in one day – General Staff

This is stated in the morning summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The total combat losses of the enemy from 24.02.22 to 03.10.23 were approximately:

The Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks near Makiivka, Stepove, Staromayorske, and Rivnopil in the east

The General Staff notes that the Ukrainian Defense Forces keep going forward with defense operations in eastern and southern Ukraine, offensive operations in the Melitopol direction and offensives in the Bakhmut direction, destroying Russian forces, liberating the temporarily occupied territories step by step, and consolidating the achieved positions.

There were 35 combat clashes during the past day. 

In the area of responsibility of the North operational-strategic group, near the border with Belarus, the operational situation remains without significant changes.

In the northeastern border area, Russian forces maintain a grouping of troops covering the state border, conducting active sabotage activities in the border areas to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increasing the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group in the Kupyansk direction, the Russian troops did not conduct any offensive (assault) operations. 

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian forces repelled attacks near Makiivka, Luhansk region. In the Bakhmut direction, Russians unsuccessfully tried to regain the lost position near Andriivka, Donetsk region.

In the area of responsibility of the Tavria operational-strategic group in the Avdiivka direction, the Russian invaders carried out over 10 unsuccessful attacks near Marinka and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region. They also tried to regain their lost position near Avdiivka in the Donetsk region to no avail. Defense Forces successfully repelled attacks near Stepove.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Defense Forces successfully repelled attacks near Staromayorske and Rivnopil, Donetsk region. 

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian troops tried to regain their lost ground near Verbove and Mala Tokmachka, Zaporizhzhia region but had no success.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct offensive operations in the Melitopol direction, offensive (assault) operations in the Bakhmut direction, inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying forces, and exhaust the Russian army along the entire front line.

In the area of responsibility of the Odesa operational-strategic group in the Kherson direction, Ukrainian soldiers continue counter-battery combat, destroying supply depots and successfully striking at Russia's rear.

Throughout the day, the occupiers launched 8 missile strikes on Ukraine

Additionally, on the previous day, Russian forces conducted 47 airstrikes and 27 MLRS attacks on both our troops' positions and civilian targets within our country.

Furthermore, Ukraine was subjected to an attack by 7 UAVs of the Shahed-136/131 type from the southeast. Ukraine's air defense successfully neutralized 4 of them. These Russian terrorist attacks resulted in casualties among the civilian population, as well as damage and destruction to private homes and other civilian infrastructure.

Air strikes occurred in the following locations: Stepok in the Sumy region; Kupyansk, Ivanivka, and Cherneshchyna in the Kharkiv region; Zarichne, Spirne, Lyman, Klishchiivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Marinka, Novomykhailivka, Paraskoviivka, Urozhaine, Staromayorske, Novodarivka in the Donetsk region; Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region; Mykolaivka in the Kherson region.

Artillery fire impacted over 100 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces targeted areas with concentrations of Russian forces 13 times

Over the past day, our Defense Forces' aviation conducted 11 strikes on locations where enemy personnel, weaponry, and military equipment were concentrated. Additionally, one strike was carried out on an enemy anti-aircraft missile complex.

Furthermore, missile force units targeted 2 areas with concentrations of enemy personnel, weaponry, and military equipment, as well as a command post, 2 electronic warfare stations, and 4 enemy artillery pieces.

• On the night of October 3, Russia launched another air attack on Ukraine, with several groups of Shahed and enemy aircraft activity being detected.
