"The situation in the operational zone of the southern regions is difficult, but under control. The enemy continues to conduct hostilities along the occupied defense line. There have been no significant changes in the composition and position. Having no success on land, the enemy activates aerial reconnaissance and a variety of air attack means", it is said in the report.
During the day of August 27, the Russians attacked the Ukrainian Armed Forces' positions with drones, pairs of helicopters, and from a fighter-bomber with an air-to-surface Kh-59 missile.
Russia attacked infrastructure facilities in Nikopol with unguided missiles from the Mi-24 helicopter. One building was destroyed, without loss of life.
According to the press service of the Ukrainian National Police, on August 27, the coastal area of Nikopol was shelled from the Zaporizhzhya region. An administrative building and two high-rise buildings were damaged. On the night of August 28, the Russian invaders shelled Nikopol several times with barrel artillery and anti-aircraft guns, damaging private houses, farm buildings, and power lines. Also, the Marhanets community was shelled several times during the day, 11 private houses, farm buildings, a sewing factory enterprise, power lines, and water pipes were damaged and destroyed.
Based on this fact of Russian aggression against the civilian population of the Nikopol district, law enforcement officers opened criminal proceedings under Art. 438 (violation of the laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
