''Ukraine's aggressive attack on Donbas'': Russia launches propaganda campaign
Russia has launched a large-scale information campaign to mark the 10th anniversary of the beginning of the battle for Donetsk airport, trying to shift the responsibility for the war to Kyiv
This is reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation.
Russian propaganda covers memorial events in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, as well as disseminates statements by Russian politicians and Kremlin proxies on the anniversary of the beginning of the large-scale battle for Donetsk airport on May 26, 2014.
"This battle is being presented by ru-propaganda as Ukraine's "aggressive attack on Donbas". However, it was Russia that launched a hybrid military aggression against our country in 2014," the Center emphasizes.
It is emphasized that Ukrainian Crimea was already occupied by Russians at the time of the outbreak of hostilities in the east. At the same time, the vast majority of the "Donbas militia" were Russians, namely military and intelligence officers.
- On May 25, it was reported that in the temporarily occupied territories, Russians are engaging so-called veterans of the "special military operation" to propagandize among children: they cultivate hatred for Ukraine and justify their crimes.
