Record-breaking anti-aircraft gunner Andriy Liniychuk dies in battle
A legendary anti-aircraft gunner has died fighting for Ukraine: he shot down the largest number of enemy air attack vehicles in the Armed Forces
This was reported on the Telegram channel of the 95th separate amphibious assault brigade.
It has been reported that Sergeant Andrii "Celt" Liniychuk, a soldier from the 95th brigade, has already made a name for himself in the military history of Ukraine and Great Britain. He gained recognition for being the first to deploy the Starstreak portable anti-aircraft missile system in combat.
"The paratrooper has emerged as the most effective anti-aircraft gunner in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He neutralized 16 Orlan 2 drones, 1 Zala drone, and even a Ka-52 combat helicopter, earning him the Order 'For Courage'," the post stated.
Tragically, Sergeant Andrii Liniychuk lost his life during another enemy attack.
"His perseverance and sense of responsibility served as an example for all of us, and his sense of humor provided solace during challenging times. We will undoubtedly seek retribution for Andrii's death," said Oleksandr, the fallen soldier's brother.
