Putin has not abandoned plans to eliminate Zelenskyy – former head of Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service
The head of the Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service 2020-2021 Valeriy Kondratyuk believes that the Russia has not abandoned plans to eliminate President Zelenskyy and the military-political leadership of the state
He expressed this opinion on the Espreso TV channel.
"It is a lie to say that Putin did not set out to eliminate President Zelenskyy and the top military and political leadership of Ukraine. Intercepts by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine prove that Russia had such plans. However, it was this information that allowed us to prevent the Russians from fulfilling such plans," Kondratyuk said.
The former head of Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service emphasized that Russia has not abandoned its plans to eliminate Ukraine's top military and political leadership.
"At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, we managed to destroy Russia's plans to eliminate Ukraine's military and political leadership. However, this does not mean that Putin has abandoned his plans to eliminate Zelenskyy and the state leadership. While at the beginning of the invasion, the entire Russian intelligence apparatus in Ukraine was frightened and did not make frequent contact, the situation is different now. Today they have become more active again. This means that there is a threat to our military and political leadership again," he added.
On February 5, Naftali Bennett, who served as Israel's prime minister in March 2022, said that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin had promised him not to assassinate Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
