Prytula Fund buys satellite for Ukraine with UAH 600 million raised for Bayraktars
On August 18, Serhiy Prytula reported that the "people's satellite" was purchased using the money crowdfunded for Bayraktars.
Serhiy Prytula, a volunteer and showman, informs about this on Facebook.
For the collected over 600 million hryvnias, the "people's byraktar" acquired access to the satellite and image database of the ICEYE company.
"We promised you to dispose of these funds in such a way that it would bring as much benefit as possible to the Ukrainian army and as much harm as possible to Russian enemies. Ukrainians, you are space. We bought a satellite. But it is not just one satellite. It gives us access to a database of constellation images of the ICEYE company. And we bought this access for more than a year," Prytula said.
Thanks to this satellite, the Ukrainian army will receive high-quality images as quickly as possible, which will help with operational planning of operations: "There will be a lot of cotton(explosions)."
In the telegram channel of the portal dedicated to space, Alpha centauri, it was noted that the satellite of the Prytuli Foundation was leased. The lease of the ICEYE satellite is indefinite, and the company's full data package is purchased for a year.
"The ICEYE group's instruments observe the Earth in the microwave range (SAR), which allows obtaining images of the surface at any time of the day and under any weather conditions. The data is usually updated once every few hours, which allows observing the theater of operations at the tactical level,"- the message says.
