Partner countries should open weapons stockpiles to Ukraine - Lithuania's Foreign Affairs Ministry
Ukraine's Armed Forces are capable of liberating their territory using NATO standard weapons. So allied countries should open their reserves to help Ukraine.
This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielus Landsbergis, in an interview with Ukrinform.
"Lithuania has always defended the position at all possible levels that Ukraine needs "everything we have", without giving any arguments like "we just give javelins" and "stingers" and maybe something else. It became clear that the Ukrainian army is capable and able to successfully retake the occupied territories using weapons of NATO standards. We are now at a point where the arguments that were used before are no longer valid," he said.
Landsbergis noted that currently allied countries cannot explain their refusal to supply weapons by the fact that "they are too technologically complex to train the Ukrainian military" or that the weapons may be "lost" or "destroyed."
"I have said this many times and now I will repeat that all our reserves must be opened for the Ukrainian army," he added.
The minister also emphasized that currently there are platforms in various countries where Ukrainians undergo military training.
"If the debate is still going on somewhere, it's a shame, because the longer it drags on, the longer the war will drag on," he added.
