Russia loses over 1,100 soldiers, 15 tanks and 19 armored vehicles in one day of war in Ukraine

The total combat losses of the Russian Federation from February 24, 2022 to December 19, 2023 are estimated to be:

• personnel - about 347,160 (+1,140) people,
• tanks - 5,798 (+15),
• armored combat vehicles - 10,771 (+19),
• artillery systems - 8,190 (+15),
• MLRS - 926 (+0),
• air defense systems - 611 (+1),
• aircraft - 324 (+0),
• helicopters - 324 (+0),
• UAVs of operational and tactical level - 6,299 (+9),
• cruise missiles - 1,611 (+1),
• ships/boats - 22 (+0),
• submarines - 1 (+0),
• motor vehicles and fuel tankers - 10,842 (+20),
• special equipment - 1,200 (+2).

Frontline situation: over 100 combat engagements occurred in the last day, Russian troops launched attacks in 6 sectors

According to the General Staff, in the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group in the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 5 Russian attacks near Synkivka and east of Petropavlivka in Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, Ukraine's soldiers repulsed 10 Russian attacks near Makiivka, Luhansk region, and east of Terny and Spirne, Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian defenders fended off 21 hostile attacks near 3 settlements in the Donetsk region. The Ukrainian defense forces continue to inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the Russian enemy and are consolidating their positions.

In the Avdiivka direction, in the area of responsibility of the Tavria operational-strategic group, Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold back the Russian enemy, who keeps trying to surround Avdiivka. Ukraine's fighters are steadfastly holding the line, inflicting significant losses on the invaders. Ukrainian defense forces repelled 11 Russian attacks in the Avdiivka area and another 13 attacks near 4 localities in Donetsk region.

In the Marinka direction, the Defense Forces are holding back the Russian enemy near Novomykhailivka, Donetsk, where 13 attacks were repulsed.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, the Russian army did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian defenders beat back 17 Russian attacks west of Novopokrovka and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.

At the same time, in the Melitopol direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to actively inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, depleting the Russian enemy along the entire front line.

In the area of responsibility of the Odesa operational-strategic group in the Kherson direction, Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River, conducting counter-battery combat, and inflicting fire on Russia's rear.

Russia attacked Ukraine with drones, Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down a Russian missile

In total, Russia launched 1 missile strike and 6 air strikes, fired 62 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukraine's troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Private houses and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

At night, the Russian invaders once again attacked Ukraine using 2 Shahed-136/131 UAVs. Air defense destroyed all attack drones.

Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region was hit by air strikes. More than 140 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

At the same time, over the past day, air defense forces destroyed 1 Kh-59 guided missile. Missile troops destroyed 2 remote mining areas and 1 Russian artillery unit.
