Russia has covert strategy
We often discuss how we see Ukraine's victory, but rarely how Russians see it. It is clear that any decision that leaves Ukraine independent is a defeat for them
The question arises: why are they talking about their readiness to stop along the current frontline, given that this is not a victory for them?
Of course, this can be seen as a temporary solution. But in the face of sanctions and the losses suffered by the Russian army, it will take them 10 years to recover. Obviously, they are counting on something else.
And this other thing is the hope for a civil war in Ukraine. The belief that Ukraine will experience some sort of revolution has consistently surprised me with its persistence among Russians. They are actively promoting this narrative on a large scale. Even here, a swarm of bots is trying to stir up hatred toward the government and incite protests.
This looks rather ridiculous against the backdrop of Ukrainians' hatred of Russians. Yes, the Ukrainians have a million questions to ask the government, but nothing unites them more than the desire to see Russia defeated.
However, this wouldn't seem so absurd if we were discussing a peace agreement that involves the loss of territories. Clearly, this would divide Ukrainian society and lead to internal conflict. That’s why, when the Russians suggest fixing the line, they aren't truly seeking peace—they’re simply banking on an internal crisis in Ukraine that would eventually lead them to the victory they desire.
Unfortunately, this once again proves that such peace plans are, in reality, just another attempt to destroy Ukraine.
