Russian subversive reconnaissance groups raid frontline towns disguised as Ukrainian army
Nazar Voitenkov, acting press officer of Ukraine's 33rd Brigade, reported that Kurakhove is under relentless fire from Russian KAB bombs, MLRS, artillery, and FPV drones
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
“There are still more than a thousand residents in Kurakhove risking their lives as the town faces constant shelling," noted Nazar Voitenkov, acting press officer of Ukraine's 33rd Brigade. "The town is under attack from UAVs, MLRS, and artillery. FPV drones target both civilian and military vehicles. The Russians seem indifferent to where they fire—it’s simply a designated target area for them. We can’t comprehend what the locals are waiting for or what’s going through their minds as they remain in such danger,” Voitenkov added.
Nazar Voitenkov described the situation for soldiers in Kurakhove as highly unpredictable. "You never know if a precision strike will follow when you move into a house," he said, noting that some locals may leak positions, believing it will aid the occupying Russian forces in advancing more swiftly.
“We also know that Russian subversive groups, disguised as Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades, move around the frontline towns asking where people live, and then conduct targeted strikes on these houses. If all civilians were evacuated, it would be much easier for us,” emphasized Voitenkov.
- On October 7, 172 combat clashes took place on the frontline between the two armies over the past day. Russian forces fired 4,420 times at the territory of Ukraine.
