Ukraine strikes largest Russian oil terminal in Feodosia, says military expert
Serhiy Zgurets, a military expert and CEO of the Defense Express media and consulting company, has noted that the oil terminal in Feodosia supplies Russian forces in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia directions via Dzhankoi
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
Zgurets noted, “The strike on the oil depot in Feodosia is significant because it is the largest Russian terminal in Crimea, even bigger than the one in Sevastopol. This terminal supplies Russian forces, particularly in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia directions, via Dzhankoi. The strike, carried out by our drones and possibly missiles, was quite effective.”
According to the military expert, it was believed that air defense in Crimea is dense, as Russia has been making significant efforts to protect key infrastructure in the region.
Zgurets emphasized, “By the way, near Feodosia, just 6 kilometers away, there is a Russian air defense regiment equipped with an S-400 system. This means the direction of the drone strikes was carefully chosen, or all radars supporting the operation of Russian SAMs were disabled. Alternatively, the effectiveness of these defenses could be extremely low, allowing the Ukrainian side to consistently carry out strikes on Crimea and other targets in Russia. In addition to oil depots, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are also targeting Russian ammunition arsenals.”
- On the night of Monday, October 7, explosions occurred in Crimea. A fire broke out at an oil depot in Feodosia as a result of an attack by Ukrainian Defense Forces drones.
- An air defense system Pantsir-S1 was damaged on the territory of the oil terminal in the Russia-occupied Feodosia, Crimea, which was successfully attacked by the Ukrainian Defense Forces on the night of October 7.
