As reported by the Ministry of Defense, the program brought together Ukrainian and international experts, gender advisors, policymakers, and practitioners focused on human security.
They worked to better understand gender integration so the Armed Forces can follow NATO standards and the UN Security Council resolution on “Women, Peace, and Security.”
Participants included members of the Canadian Armed Forces, the Nordic Centre for Gender in Military Operations from Sweden, EU defense agencies, and top international organizations, working for equal rights for men and women.
- In June, it was reported that more than 67,000 women serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, of which 19,000 are civilian employees while the others are military personnel.
