Russia has exported 180,000 tonnes of Ukrainian grain through Mariupol port in 2024, says Ukraine's PM
Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that in 2024, Russia smuggled 180,000 tonnes of stolen Ukrainian grain through the port of temporarily occupied Mariupol
Shmyhal announced this at a government meeting.
He noted that Russia uses food as an element of aggression.
"This year, the enemy has exported over 180,000 tonnes of stolen Ukrainian grain through the port of Mariupol alone. The temporarily occupied territories are being plundered to finance the war of aggression with the stolen funds. Undoubtedly, Russian economic terror will be one of the key areas of focus for the special tribunal on the crime of Russian aggression against Ukraine," he stated.
At the same time, Shmyhal emphasized that Ukraine is ready to continue serving as one of the key guarantors of global food security, given that it produces far more than it can consume.
"That is why we assist countries across different continents," he added.
