Russia strikes Kharkiv city center: 21 wounded, including a teen
On Tuesday, October 8, the Russian military launched an attack on Kharkiv. The strike damaged civilian facilities, caused a fire, and left 21 people injured
Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration reported the information.
"A hit from the enemy's KAB was reported in Kharkiv. Early reports suggest damage to civilian facilities, and the details are still being checked," he noted.
Later, Syniehubov updated the situation, stating that 5 people were injured in the attack.
By 11:15 a.m., he reported that the number of wounded had risen to 6, with one person in serious condition.
"There has been infrastructure damage, and we are investigating the type of weapon used by the Russians," he added.
Later, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov confirmed that there were multiple strikes.
"It wasn't just one hit; there were several. We're still determining the type of weapon used against the civilian facility. There is a large fire, and six people were injured at the site," he said.
He mentioned that at least two people were trapped under the rubble.
By 11:25 a.m., Syniehubov reported that the number of wounded had risen to 11.
"Currently, there are 11 injured, including a 16-year-old child. Three of them are in serious condition," he noted.
As of 11:54 a.m., Terekhov said the number of injured had increased to 16.
By 12:35 p.m., Syniehubov updated the count again, stating that 21 people had been injured, with 17 of them hospitalized.
