On love for Russia: “It is impossible to love heartburn”
I often get comments from Russians who accuse me of not loving Russia and being a Russophobe in general, Boryslav Bereza writes
These are dirty insinuations. Because I am absolutely indifferent to Russia as a territorial entity, just like I am to Somalia or Bora Bora.
But no. There is still a difference. I want to visit Bora Bora, but I don't want to go to Russia. Especially while Putin and the Putinoids are still there, and they regularly use Novichok against those they don't like. And for some reason, the Kremlin really doesn't like me. But it is mutual.
At the same time, I have nothing to dislike them for. After all, we were not the ones who attacked Russia, we were not the ones who annexed Sochi, and we were not the ones who occupied the Khabarovsk region. By the way, there is a creeping encirclement on the territory of the latter. And this is good. Because sooner or later this territory will fall away from Russia, like many others.
“I have no love or antipathy for territorial education, but I despise those who have supported the comprehensive aggression against my country since 2014, either loudly or silently. And my attitude towards them will not change. It's like it's impossible to love heartburn. You only want to get rid of it.”
But this is not the point. The point is that I have a lot to dislike about the Russian government and the stupid herd that supported the actions of this government. By the way, it wasn't me who aired a story on NTV about a special unit of criminals led by Boryslav Bereza, in which biathlete Olena Pidhrushna serves as a sniper, and which is organizing the genocide of the people of Donbas.
It was not me who talked about the crucified boy in panties from Sloviansk. And it was definitely not me who instructed Sharii the mutt to bark at me. So I have every reason to dislike the scum who said and did all this.
Therefore, I have no love or antipathy for territorial education, but I despise those who have supported the comprehensive aggression against my country since 2014, either loudly or silently. And my attitude towards them will not change. It's like you can't love heartburn, you just want to get rid of it.
In general, I don't really like the word 'Russophobia'. A phobia is a fear of something or someone. But we are not afraid of Russians. After Mariupol and Bucha, after Moshchun and Irpin, after the bombings of Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Odesa, Poltava, Khmelnytskyi, and Lviv, we are not afraid of them, but we rightly hate them. And hatred is not based on fear. So there is no need to say that we do not like Russians - you can dislike boiled onions and waking up early. And do not assume that we are afraid of them. People are afraid of what they cannot cope with, but more than 140,000 'good Russians' perfectly show that we are able to cope with this disaster. Let's be precise with our terms.
“A phobia is a fear of something or someone. And hatred is not based on fear.”
And lastly. Russians often accuse Ukraine and Ukrainians of selling out to the 'damned West' in their view. This is very funny and ridiculous, although in Russia they are used to blaming 'Pindos and gay Europeans' for all their troubles, rather than their own thievery, stupidity, laziness, alcoholism, rudeness and weakness.
It's simpler than that. Russians have the dumped girl syndrome, where a guy dates a girl but then dumps her when he sees that she is rude, stupid, always drunk, rarely takes a shower, smells bad, and is extremely aggressive. And the guy wants to date and build a relationship with a clean, smart, reliable, beautiful and adequate girl at the same time.
That's why the Kremlin is so scared. They are not trying to fix themselves, but blame everyone around them and cannot understand that Ukraine does not want to live by the rules of modern Russia, but rather a model of the modern Western civilized world that is closer to us and more desirable.
That's why the Putinoids are trying to ruin it. That's why they attacked us. That is why they hurt us. Out of stupid resentment and meanness. And because they are afraid that someone will live better than they do.
I understand that not everyone in Russia is like that. Yes, there are smart, decent, and talented people there. But there are so few of them that this spoonful of honey cannot correct the taste of a barrel of shit wrapped in the tricolor. And most of them are already in jail or had to flee to avoid going to jail.
“Can Ukrainians change their attitude toward Russians? Ask the Jews, who were able to forgive the Germans for the Holocaust, but have not forgotten anything, and every Jewish child remembers Babyn Yar, Auschwitz, and Dachau.”
Can Ukrainians change their attitude toward Russians? Ask the Jews, who were able to forgive the Germans for the Holocaust, but have not forgotten anything, and every Jewish child remembers Babyn Yar, Auschwitz, and Dachau. Germany managed to change the situation. Not quickly, but it did. And the country that was the cradle of Nazism, where Jews were massacred, is now in more than friendly and partnership relations with Israel. But first, there was the denazification of the Germans, and then Germany admitted its guilt and mistakes, conducted work on mistakes in society, and repented.
But Russia... So far, it is not capable of this. So, for the time being, it will remain so. But as King Solomon said: “And this shall pass away.” Therefore, either Russia and Russians will change or disappear into the dustbin of history. And the choice is theirs.
But regardless of their choice, I will not be able to forgive them. It will not be possible after the deaths of my friends and comrades-in-arms, after my children were in hiding, after everything that happened. I can't and I don't want to.
And the Russians... This is their choice. Do they want to change? Let them change. Although they don't have much time. So I have no Russophobia, but I do have disgust and contempt for these stupid bastards. And I am satisfied with this balance. And I'm even more satisfied with the General Staff's morning report. Because every morning there are many new 'good Russians' who will no longer harm Ukrainians.
This is my attitude toward Russians and Russia, and it will not be different.
