Norway gives Hellfire missiles and night vision devices to Ukraine
Norway transfers approximately 160 Hellfire missiles, launch pads and guidance units to Ukraine. They also shared night vision devices with Ukraine's Armed Forces
The website of the Norwegian Government Organization for Security and Service reports.
The donation was announced by the Minister of Defense of Norway, Björn Arild Gram.
"This is a weapon that Ukraine asked for, and it will be useful in the fight against Russian occupation forces. According to Defense Minister Björn Arild Gram, the missile is easy to control and can be used against both land and sea targets," the message says.
The Norwegian Armed Forces conducted Hellfire training for Ukrainian operators.
"The term of operation of the Hellfire system is coming to an end, we planned to phase it out of the Armed Forces of Norway," the department explains.
In addition, Norway handed Ukraine night vision equipment, namely glasses and binoculars.
"Currently, we and our allies have transferred military systems and equipment from our own stocks. In the future, we will need to closely cooperate with the Defense Ministry to ensure the necessary supplies of military equipment to Ukraine. This will also ensure that Ukraine receives more modern and effective equipment," the Minister of Defense Björn Arild Gram said.
