No one is putting pressure on me - Zelenskyy on possibility of negotiations with Russia
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says that none of the US or EU leaders is pressuring him to start negotiations with Russia
Zelenskyy said this at a press conference with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, UNIAN reports.
According to him, reports are now circulating about the possibility of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia in one form or another.
"I do not know who is doing this. But I, as a person who has this responsibility and authority for certain negotiations, will answer you very frankly. Everyone knows that my attitude is in line with the attitude of Ukrainian society, and therefore no one is putting pressure on me today," Zelenskyy said.
In addition, the president said that the partners also do not put pressure on territorial concessions.
Zelenskyy noted that at the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion and before, there were such talks between the partners, but now there are none.
"Today, the leaders of the EU, the United States, our partners, etc. are not pressuring me to sit down with Russia and give it something. This is not going to happen," the president concluded.
- Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto said that the war in Ukraine should end not only with military hostilities but the time for peace talks with Russia has not yet come.
