Ukraine joins Toronto Warriors' Day parade for first time ever
On Sunday, August 18, Ukrainian forces took part in the Toronto Warriors' Day parade for the first time ever
This was announced by Consul General of Ukraine in Toronto Oleh Nikolenko.
"Ukrainian servicemen. Our defenders. The Ukrainian flag. Blue and yellow colours of freedom. In the largest city in Canada. I am extremely proud that we have managed to implement this important project," he wrote on Facebook.
Nikolenko thanked the Ukrainian military for their participation and the management of the Canadian National Exhibition for the opportunity to join the event.
"Ukraine is fighting not only for its freedom, but also for the freedom of the democratic world. We honour our soldiers and thank them for their defence," the diplomat stressed.
It is noted that the Warriors Day parade has been held in Toronto since 1921. It honours the men and women who serve in the Canadian Armed Forces. According to the Consul General, the invitation to Ukraine to participate this year is a confirmation of the strong friendship between the two countries.
- Recently, the Ministry of National Defence of Canada announced that Ukraine has permission to use the provided armoured vehicles in Russia.
