Destruction of Russian communication hub in Alushta cuts down Russia’s strategic potential - Defense Express
Valerii Riabykh, a military expert, development director of the media and consulting company Defense Express, noted that the installation of a new radar and the modernization of the communication hub in Alushta allowed Russians to build up their potential in outer space
The expert spoke about this on Espreso TV.
"We are already seeing the success of using not only Patriot, but also ATACMS, for which targets are increasingly being identified, primarily in the temporarily occupied Crimea. And we said earlier that this will be one of the first areas where these effective means will be used. A strike on the communication hub in Alushta may also be a continuation of the actions of Ukraine's Armed Forces to reduce the strategic potential of the Russian Federation," the military expert said.
According to him, Russian communication hub in Alushta was built in Soviet times, and its use is precisely for communication with spacecraft.
"Experts do not rule out that the installation and modernization of a new radar system at this facility is used by the Russians to increase their capabilities in outer space. And this may give Russia a strategic advantage, so the destruction of such space facilities on the ground, in which the Armed Forces of Ukraine are involved, will further reduce the strategic potential of the aggressor country. In addition, it will also reduce the ability of the Russian Federation to solve problems with the help of a satellite grouping both globally and on the Ukrainian direction," Valerii Riabykh summed up.
- On May 23, explosions were heard in different cities of the temporarily occupied Crimea. The occupation authorities claimed that an empty agricultural facility was hit in Alushta. There has been no official data from the Ukrainian Armed Forces so far.
